What you can do
Media Studio provides 29 tools. You never call them yourself — you ask for what you want and your assistant picks the ones it needs. This page is here so you can see what is possible, and so you can recognise a name when you are asked to approve one.
Three worth knowing by name
picsart_media_quickstart is where your assistant looks up how to do a job. picsart_media_list_fonts matters before any styled text. picsart_media_export is the one that makes the finished file.
Finding its way around
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
picsart_media_quickstart | The starting point — supplies the recommended steps for common jobs like joining clips, previewing, or rendering. |
picsart_media_get_capabilities | Lists what the renderer supports: the available effects, transitions, looks, and motion and text animations. |
picsart_media_get_scene_schema | Supplies the precise structure of a piece, so it can be built correctly. |
picsart_media_list_fonts | Lists the fonts available. Worth asking for before styled text — a font that isn't on the list comes out blank. |
picsart_media_list_recipes | Lists step-by-step guides for longer jobs. |
picsart_media_get_recipe | Opens one of those guides in full. |
Getting your files in
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
picsart_media_upload | Opens a drop area so you can add an image, video or audio file from your computer. It uploads straight from your browser, and you can also pick something already in your Picsart Drive. |
picsart_media_probe_media | Checks a file's size, shape and length before anything is built around it, without downloading the whole thing. |
Starting from a template
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
picsart_media_list_scene_templates | Lists the ready-made templates — title cards, name strips, product cards and so on. |
picsart_media_describe_scene_template | Shows what one template lets you change: its text, colours, sizes and timings. |
picsart_media_apply_scene_template | Fills a template in with your text, colours and images. |
picsart_media_expand_scene_ref | Breaks a template open into its separate parts, so something the template doesn't offer as an option can still be changed. |
Building and styling
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
picsart_media_patch_scene | Changes one part of a piece without rebuilding the whole thing. |
picsart_media_apply_effect | Adds an effect to one part — a blur, a drop shadow, an outline. |
picsart_media_apply_look | Applies a whole colour treatment, like a vintage black-and-white or a light leak. |
picsart_media_apply_motion_preset | Adds movement — a slow drift across a photo, a pulse, a pop as something appears. |
picsart_media_apply_text_animation | Animates text — typed out letter by letter, faded in, sliding up line by line. |
picsart_media_resolve_looks | Bakes an applied look permanently into the piece. |
Checking before you render
All three are free, and worth doing.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
picsart_media_validate_scene | Checks the piece for problems and reports exactly what is wrong and where. |
picsart_media_query_layout | Reports where everything actually sits on screen at a given moment, catching anything overlapping or running off the edge — without rendering. |
picsart_media_translate_scene | Converts the piece into the format Picsart's editor opens, if you would rather carry on editing it by hand. |
Previewing and rendering
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
picsart_media_contact_sheet | Renders a handful of small preview pictures from different moments, so you can see how a piece is looking before committing to the full render. |
picsart_media_export | Renders the finished piece to a real file — a video or a still image, in a range of formats. A single result is saved to your Picsart Drive automatically. |
picsart_media_overview | Lays every slide of a slideshow out as one grid of thumbnails, so you can take in the whole thing at once. |
Working with video you already have
These three read a video you supply and report back on it. They don't change it.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
picsart_media_transcribe | Turns the speech in a video or audio file into text, timed so it can go straight on screen as captions. It can label different speakers, and mark natural places to cut. |
picsart_media_describe_video | Describes what is happening on screen — who is in it, the setting, any text shown, the mood and the colours — and can answer a specific question about it. |
picsart_media_reframe_video | Reframes a video for a different shape of screen, following the subject with a pan and zoom instead of a fixed centre crop. |
Your Picsart Drive
Picsart Drive is the file storage that comes with your Picsart account.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
picsart_media_drive_list | Browses your Drive — folders to open, and files that can be used straight away. |
picsart_media_drive_save | Saves a file into your Drive. If it is already there, you get the existing one back rather than a duplicate. |
